Your Wrinkle Smoothing Guide: In-clinic lasers

Are you a Wrinkle Patch advocate but find yourself wondering “What else can I do for my skin to reduce wrinkles?!” Maybe you're finding the amount of anti aging information about your other options out there overwhelming. Investing in more expensive laser treatments can be an invaluable investment to your skin care routine and can deliver exceptional targeted results for forehead wrinkles, under eye wrinkles, marionette lines and frown lines. Our founder, Gabrielle Requena, has done the hard work for you by trialling and testing a collection of laser treatment for wrinkles and choosing the best three worth the investment!

We’ve narrowed it down to HIFU Treatment, Co2 Lasers and RF Lasers which were found to be beneficial for any certain concern on the skin.

HIFU Treatment
High-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) is a new cosmetic treatment for skin tightening which is deemed the painless replacement for a face lift. The ultrasound energy causes the tissue in the skin to heat up. Once the cells in the selected area reach a certain temperature, they experience cellular damage. This may seem counterintuitive, however the damage actually stimulates the cells to produce more collagen. It also tightens the muscles in the face. HIFU facials are fast becoming a very popular option for non-invasive procedures.

Main concerns it treats:

• Wrinkle Reduction

• Tightening Sagging Skin

• Lifting Areas on the Face

• Enhancing Jawline Definition

HIFU treatment cost average:
On average this treatment costs $1,700.

Downtime:
No downtime! After your procedure, you can resume your normal activities immediately.

Co2 Laser
Co2 laser resurfacing lasers emit energy that removes the superficial layer of the skin and stimulates the formation of new skin cells. The laser emits energy of a wavelength of 10,600 nanometers. Water within the skin cells absorb this type of wavelength, resulting in the ablation of the superficial layer of the skin. When the skin starts healing after laser treatment, new skin starts to form that results in smoother skin, tighter skin on face, and improves skin elasticity.

Main concerns it treats:

• Improve Skin Tone

• Reduce Sun Damage

• Target Superficial Lines

• Improves Textures and Pores

Co2 laser cost average:

On average this treatment costs $2,775.

Downtime:

The skin typically requires 2–4 weeks to completely heal from CO2 laser treatment.

RF Lasers
Radio frequency treatments use low-level radio waves to cause a thermal reaction within the dermis. This skin resurfacing treatment encourages collagen production and new healthy skin cells to revive your skin and create a more youthful complexion. RF is a better choice for addressing volume loss in face and for concerns on more delicate areas, like drooping eyelids or saggy eyelids. RF can be used with any skin complexion and is ideal for facial rejuvenation, reshaping and resituating the facial shape, giving an eyebrow lift and smoothing under eyes, improving wrinkles and fine lines.

Main concerns it treats:

• Fine Lines and Wrinkles

• Skin Laxity

• Face slimming

• Reduce Fine Lines

Average cost:
On average this treatment costs $875.

Downtime:
Your skin will be slightly tender and red the following day. It will form tiny micro-crusts on the second or third day, that flake off after 5 to 7 days.

Our top tips for choosing the right laser for you:

1. Be specific about what it is you want to work on i.e. skin tightening; pores; skin texture.

2. Shop around and educate yourself on what's right for you and who you trust most to treat your most precious asset - your face.

3. Once you’ve decided on the best laser for you, google it and add your suburb or city to find a selection of clinics who provide these laser treatments.

4. Reading the clinic reviews and checking out their Instagram is a great way to get a feel for which clinic is best for you.
